FOUGILET LAND CLUB

CAMEL

The Camel Trophy was an off road event, part competition, part expedition that took place in a different exotic location each year. It took place from 1980 until 2000. Up to twenty different nations took part, represented by teams of two competitors and two reporters in each vehicle. Called the "Olympics of off-road driving" the Camel Trophy was a very unique event. Land Rover was the vehicle of choice for most events. These vehicles were largely stock units, pulled off of the production line and outfitted with expedition equipment such as roll cages, roof racks, winches and bull bars. All were modified by hand at Land Rovers Special Vehicles branch. All are very special vehicles indeed.
